A sweet tasting aromatic herb with a scent of pepper, anise, and mint. The same as green basil.

Use:

Purple basil although very similar to regular basil the leaves have a lovely, coppery glow and a slightly spicy flavour. They go great in salads, and pestos or preserved in oils and vinegar.
